I have a friend from England. She has nothing postive to say about the healtcare system there. matter of fact, she thinks it is horrible. she is an avid obama supporter too (its nauseating), and quite devistated she couldnt vote in the last election, as she only moved to the states a few years ago and hasnt become a citizen yet.

i know that my health insurance is going to cost me 310 every quarter. Is it expensive? Yes. Am i a young, healthy person? Yes. Am i going to pay for it? YES!!! Because accidents happen and i cant afford to pay a 50,000 dollar medical bill. I am going to be responsible and pay for something i need to have.
That's good to read, but you're missing the point.
The reality is there is no guarantee that you will be healthy and be able to pay for your health coverage tomorrow, or next week, or next year because "shit happens".

I love all these political threads, but you know what - its pointless to talk about ANY of it before we can have politicians we can trust! Mr. Obama, any way you could implement that reform finally?

Right on both counts. Another point is that unless an employer or someone else is making up the difference, medical insurance at 310 per quarter really isn't going to provide very comprehensive or dependable coverage. No insurer is going to take significant risk on board for this level of premium.
if i want health insurance then i will buy it. everyone else can do the same thing.

you can change your coverage. My deductible is 2000, so that is why my premium is so low. My boyfriends father sold insurance for 15 years with jackson national, lafayette life and security mutual. He wrote my policy, i know 100% i am covered past 2 grand. Like i said i bought mine in case of a freak accident. Major items covered. I pay for my regular checkups and doctor bills.

It's kind of strange to see the folks here, with pretty much all of us driving our 50K to 100K cars, talk about what people can do or should do with their money or how they just need to step up and pay for their medical bills or take out insurance. I really wish it were that simple, but it isn't.
