I'm still running my Temp plates, but will get the permanent plates soon. Washington State requires a front plate, but I'm thinking about installing the rear plate only. I run with Smoked plate covers(Which are also illegal in WA) and have not had any issues. The smoked cover blends in very well with the TIA Grey and is a very subtle mod. I'd bet you get more hassle about no plate then one you can barely see. I'll see if I can find a good picture.
Also it protects you bumper from those folks that like to pull a little too close.
