My philosophy is that I always want my wife and kids in a nicer car than I have.

It's ironic-- when the new RR came out I pronounced it ugly and said I would never buy it. I said the same thing about the E60. Now I own both?

rodney, Range Rover looks great! But in looking at the photos of the two vehicles in their garages, I think you have them on the wrong sides. I hope all those shoes in racks behind your E60 belong to your wife. That collection would make Imelda Marcos proud!

My Ride: 2005 545i with everything
Those shoes are my kids And yet the still can never find a pair when we are in a hurry to go somewhere.
I passed on the RR sport because it's too small for the family. Nice for a personal ride though. The real decision was between the 305 HP V8 and the 400 HP supercharged. Fortunately my wife liked non-SC better because this one had the rear monitors-- saved me $15k
And yes I swore I would never own a black car but my wife wanted black, so I wanted her to be happy. And she has a unlimited pass at the local hand wash so I just administer the California Car duster here and there.
It is a 4 car garage but since we only have 2 cars we get to park 'double wide"

Congrats on the RR, that was my first choice but a little too much $ so I bought a fully loaded hard to find LR3 HSE. Now I am looking at the RRS, no 3rd row sitting but we never use it anyway. So how do you feel about the new Jag engine vs the 4.4 BMW 300hp vs 282hp. I am somewhat worried about the reliability, but I guess we will see how Ford plays out. My LR3 is owed and driven by my wife as well, and yes I said the same thing never a black car but it was her choice black on black and not to mention it was the only one left. Love the touch screen better then my iDrive, but all in all it's a great SUV.

[/quote]Sounds like you and I and our wives have similar taste in cars. I have mixed feelings about the new (new to the RRover anyways) jag engine in terms of reliability but it is a very good engine on paper and does have more power than the previous BMW sourced V8. I like the LR3 a lot. It seems like more women drive LR3s and mostly men drive RRovers. The dealer didn't seem to really believe that I was buying the RR for my wife and not me.

I really hope you drive off-road! If not.. you should've gotten an M5 for yourself, and a 1-series for your wife

I agree - Most people with off-roaders NEVER drive off the tarmac!
You must give it a try with a car like that - or you'll be wasting the car's true potential -comfort & versatility on & off road.
In the UK most 4 wheel drive cars are used on the school run!
M5 definitely! for me!
