Not sure what to think after that quali session, really at a loss for words.

Did F1 make the right decision with these massive rule changes?

Will the rear diffuser on the Williams, BrawnGP, Toyota, be outlawed? Or will the other teams just get at it and build their own new spec rear diffusers.

Just weird.

I agree 100%. I understood that on April 5th there will be a FIA meeting to solve the contestations of the other teams against those three teams you mentioned. Also they will consider changing some rules.

What interests me is that a few drivers could keep up with what seems to be clearly faster cars (Williams Brawn and Toyota). Also Kubica is not using Kers which is another downside but still 4th place

Sounds promising! Eagerly waiting to see tomorrow's race.

Interesting grid for tomorrow's race. Looks like the topteams suffer some difficulties with the performance just now...
Would have hoped to see Kimi up there in the front though.......

The move by Honda, now Brawn GP, to not develop the 08 car to concentrate on this years cars really seems to have paid off...

I think it is going to be a tough year for the likes of Ferrari and McLaren, because development is going to be hampered, by the restrictions on testing this year...

And Hamilton has been dropped to P20 after McLaren had to change his gearbox.

Not a good start to the defence of his title...

This will make scoring any points very difficult.

With the exception of Brawn's 1, 2 & Mclaren's lack of pace (which we knew since testing) this is typical first GP weirdness.......look at the 2008 & 2009 top 12.

2 Robert Kubica BMW Sauber
3 Heikki Kovalainen McLaren-Mercedes
4 Felipe Massa Ferrari
5 Nick Heidfeld BMW Sauber
6 Jarno Trulli Toyota
7 Nico Rosberg Williams-Toyota
8 David Coulthard Red Bull-Renault
9 Timo Glock Toyota
10 Sebastian Vettel STR-Ferrari

2009 F1 AUSTRALIAN GP Qualifying

1 Jenson Button Brawn-Mercedes +12
