The electoral college didn't put Obama in office (365 to 173). A HUGE majority of the populace did (53% to 46%). The electoral collage put GWB in office in 2000 (271 to 266) - in spite of the votes of a majority of the populace(47.8% to 48.30%). Perhaps that is the election which you speak of?

The ellectoral college puts presidents in office and often votes the way that the population does but not always. Get a better grasp of our political systems.

Praise, he hasnt done anything yet? Again, are you serious? .................................................. ......................... The dots represent the awe I am in that you don't recognize the fact that this man has broken barriers that have been up for hundreds of years and represents the American dream better than most of our previous presidents. Yes, it is possible that he will not live up to expectations. But then again who do you think wants to take over as president with the condition of this country and world. He is taking the bull by the horns and trying to do the right thing without pre-conceived notions representative of our previous commander in chiefs.

C'mon Praise, you obviously live in a small world, not that you arent school educated or unsuccessful, but you must be pretty sheltered to believe he hasnt done anything yet...

If you cant give credit to a minority for uniting so many americans than no matter what he does while in office you will never utter a word of praise about our new president
Getting people to vote for you is not what I would call a major accomplishment. Let's see where we are 2-4 years from now. Let?s see what problems get solved. Is the economy better? Has poverty decreased? Are more people going to college? Is there more or less violence around the world? Is there peace in the Middle East?

I think a lot of the world is going to be very disappointed when America?s policy is to ?build, employ and buy at home? vs. participating fully in the free market. The more America pulls back to protect its own workers the harder it will be on the rest of the world.

Much of the world has reason to celebrate and thats fine. Go ahead.

However dont confuse acoomplished tasks with merely getting your foot in the door. Many of you are older than me and somehow I am the one who has to tell you to knock it off.

If Obama gives the military what it needs to be successful then he is a leader in my eyes. We will have to wait and see what he does.

No man, i come from the army. We judge a man by his actions, not by his perceived actions by being there. He hasnt done anything relelvant to our current economic crisis or the two wars. I mean how could he, he just became president.

While this is a good thing, there are too many people running around with their heads up their asses screaming about how the world will change. Honestly now? I hope he does great things but until he does SOMETHING, I think much of this celebration is premature at best.

A minority didnt unite America. Only half of the country voted. What about the other half? Think they are united with Obama?
Praise, very good comeback, thank God! You were starting to dig a hole that others in the Army around me have dug... Sometimes its best to not go too deep, because what you find can be awful ugly. I just want everyone to rejoice that we have someone who has kicked down some serious walls that have been up for a long time and he is uniting soooo many people around the world. We need someone to be singing this song right now....

Yes this is only the beginning! I'm excited, and ready to work.

Now THAT is a funny statement. Buddy, I can teach classes on the American, Chinese, United Kingdom, Japanese, and Australian political systems. My experiences are vast, my studies are deep. Never ASSume otherwise, because you run the risk of getting crapped on hanging out at the rear of things. Your disdain for Obama and those who support him is noted. I won't entertain a pissing war with you over MY right to celebrate and embrace what this election means to me (and millions more globally). While I'm sorry you no longer can rejoice and embrace the Bush doctrine, you can perhaps utilize the next 4 years garnering other sympathizers to your cause (and perhaps, with the depths and vast grasp of the American politico you seem to have, run for office yourself?). Good luck!

Why's that? I wasn't the one that put thousands of young american troops into a country that had nothing to do with 9/11. If I'm a moron, so are millions of Americans who think the same. Have you never watched the daily show? colbert report? letterman?

I was less than a mile from the WTC when the first plane hit. I know what it did to my life.

That was a tough day for you I'm sure. I know my family over the pond had a tough time having no idea if I was dead or alive all day long too. It's somewhat irrelevant though.
I don't get my news or develop my views on the world from the Daily show, the Colbert report or Letterman. Anyone who does please refer to the first comment.

Believe me I know, Im seeing it around me.

Im happy that people have hope in him. However people are placing trust and respect in him. To me, those are two things that a man has to earn. To me he will have the opportunity to earn those things but as of now, he hasnt.
