Still debugging issues with my antenna amplifier or the wires going to the rear liftgate and would like to know where the other end of the coaxial antenna cable goes that connects to the antenna amplifier. In my E46 that wire goes straight to the stereo but I'm not sure if it does on the E61 since it has Comfort Access. I've looked at all the wires in the liftgate hinges and they look just fine but I'm not sure if there is an internal break in the conductor. Don't want to just drop $400 on another antenna amp if it ends up being something else. If I find the other end of the antenna wire I can at least do a continuity check on it. Thanks

If I understand you correctly you want to trace the wire beginning from the aerial (box located in the top of the lift gate under the spoiler)? If that is the case the loom goes through the passenger side hinge to the interior right by the cargo compartment speaker (pass side). From there the loom travels down the passenger side D pillar to the boot. If you remove the trim pieces by the hatch lock you will see 2 looms. One loom goes towards the spare tire electronics tray and driver side. The other goes towards the front, which most likely contains the antenna you're after.

Interesting, my antenna wire goes through the hinge on the left side. The power wires for the antenna amp certainly go through the right, but I was referring to the coaxial cable (with the FAKRA connector) that comes out the left side of the antenna amp.

I stand corrected...the antenna wire does go on the driver hinge along with the windshield washer hose. It is routed about the same as the passenger side.
