So far so good with the tyres but I've only had a few hundred miles max on them so far. They seem to be a little quieter than the all season Pilots and certainly have a lot more grip, I can barely get them to squeal unless I really push it.

I'm using my old 17s as winter tyres for when I take trips to the snow hence the summer tyre decision this time round.

Hi, normal 5w leds, dont remember that manufacturer. That picture shows them wrong, they are not that bright..

New to the forum, just had a look through all 108 pages - lots of good looking beemers and plenty of ideas for me...

Put a deposit down last week on a 2008 e61 530d (48000km) - it's also a manual thank god! SO hard to find proper gearboxes in these cars! - I cant get on with autos.

Pick the car up in a few weeks...mods planned already:

Straight away,
Retrofit Cruise Control - NO IDEA why it doesn't have it already
BMW Performance gloss black kidney grills
Silver indicator bulbs.
Leather seat re-trim.
Towbar (which can be hidden from view)


Then,
Wheel/Tyre upgrade - 19inch 166s are first choice, but may go for style 32s or aftermarket 18s
(The roads in Spain are not the best, so maybe better to have the extra rubber - hard to decide).
Anti roll bars + Front strut brace and a rear one maybe.
Uprated brake pads/fluid.
Remap would be nice too.
