Well happy!!!!!

Made a nice little journey to Leew88 and he quickly coded my car! Now I officially have paddle shifts in my 530d!! You can imagine my hour long journey home!!

The only thing we didn't do is flash the gearbox (EGS) as I weren't brave enough. So I don't have the rev matching. Think I can live without that then having to spend $$$$$$$$$$$$ at the stealers to re-programme the EGS. Nevertheless I'm still very happy and maybe one day I might build up some courage to flash the EGS!

Leew88 is a tremendous guy and has really worked out how to use the software to code our cars. A massive thank you once again to him. I loved my car before but now I love it more. Right, next step, HID kit to be fitted!!

Want to thank everyone on this thread who made it this retro-fit possible.

Thanks again guys! I owe this thread big time!!

You were like a little kid with a new toy yesterday
Glad you enjoyed your drive home.

To be honest you have 80% of the SAT mode now, in my honest opinion the EGS re-flash will only give you the added advantage of rev-matching (throttle blip) during manual downshifting and S1-S6 rather than M1-M6 displayed on KOMBI. In SPORT mode auto shifting there is minimal difference in the speed of the shift.

Hi Leew88,

The drive back home was phenominal!! Changing gears with paddle shift needs to come standard on all cars!! Lol. Don't think I will ever buy a car without the paddles now!! Totally exciting!

Installed my HID kit today and looks so much better then standard bulbs I had. Just wish the angel eyes were brighter! Nevertheless still looks amazeballs!!

Also fitted my DPF down pipe with silencer built into it from Ecotunes Scotland and drives and sounds so much better!! Totally loving my car at the mo!!

Think I might flash the EGS in the near distant future when I'm brave enough!!! lol

Right next step, learn how to use NCS expert and WinKFP!!

Thanks again Leew88!!

Another happy man!!

With the help of Laco19 M5 wheel wiring modification from page 59, I have completed the last stage of SAT retro-fit, yes you guessed it an M5 paddleshift wheel (the one with left paddle shift down, right paddle shift up). I did'nt go for the standard SAT paddleshifter purely because I did'nt like the push-pull functionality. At night the + and - signs on the paddles lights up too which is a nice touch.

In conjuction with the EGS $2TB firmware reflash and coding I now have 100% SAT functionality, in SPORT mode the manual shifts via the paddles are so much quicker than normal with the nice throttle blip when downshifting, something you won't get if you don't reflash the EGS.

Hi there,
Shiftbox gear selector Parts no. 61319 165671 and 61319 142950 is no longer available according BMWfans.info. In BMWfans.info the parts available is 61319 174980 and 61319 189640.
Whereas for the Selector Level Handle, parts no in BMWfans.info is 61319 142951.

Are the two mentioned above compatible to my E60 2007 530i M-Sport (Chasis: CF39040)?? Do I also need to buy Sport button (61319 142869), Overhead Screw with Washer (07149 124395 or 07149 165860) and Spacder Pin (07149 110285).

Thanks and regards

Assuming yours in an LCI model it would be no problem.

You need all items 1,2 & 3 as per your diagram, shiftbox, selector lever handle and SPORT button. The different part number you mention are just an updated version of the same part, just order using the latest part no. it will be no problem. You don't need to order any of the screws, washers etc. because you re-use the original ones when you remove the old unit.

Don't forget you also need to replace your existing trim surround with the SAT version (with the hole for SPORT button).

Finally make sure you get correct parts for your country origin ie. left or right hand drive

install all hardware , coding FA 2TB + Kombi .... than you have to change (flash) the sw (zusb nr.) from your gear EGS into EGS SAT sw with WinKFP. (GKE195 diesel GKE215 gas)

for example ...
...205-7592132 530D
to
...2TB-7592130 530D

models from ~ 2008 till end .... you dont need to install the 2 wires ... there allready installed at factory .... so i heard
