You are correct, the alloy bit does unclip but it doesn't clip onto the old surround, its totally different.
I have sent the part back to the dealer for him to investigate.

Thanks

I think thats because you have the LHD gear cover, once you get RHD it will interchange, also ref battery boot issue- did you try attaching another battery/car via the jump points under the bonnet as I would have expected this to be a way of powering the unlock?

So I put my meter on the end of the wire which goes to x6031 in the ebox, the wire was not yet connected so I expected to see voltage coming from the szl with the ignition on but nothing!
I have already asked BLooD this question and he isn't 100% sure, would I still get voltage from pin 13 of x1880 on the szl without coding?
I am expecting to see 12v when in park, 3.7 to 3.8v when in drive, 2.4 to 2.5v for an upshift and 1.2 to 1.25v for a downshift as per the SIB, but I have nothing at all.

Just to confirm I joined pin 13 of x1880 on the szl to pin 11 of x6031 in the e box, I also connected ground to pin 12 of x6031 in the szl.

I am visiting BLooD on Sunday so perhaps the coding will make it work?

Any help would be much appreciated.
Instead of checking voltage please check resistance. Paddle should get thru various resistance based upon their state. I think its the resistance drop which causes voltage drop. In connection with coding, have you put SAT shifter in yet? If yes, is it working without any coding?

Yes the shifter is installed and no it doesn't work without the coding!

Sorry I meant is SAT centre console module (shiftbox and its stick) is installed and working now without coding? I installed mine and it worked straight away, without coding. Even now I have different VIN written to it. I have heard some say that if you don't code it will even come out of 'parking' mode.

Coding only enabled SPORTS sign on speedo. Not sure about paddle shifter though. When I do it I will only code paddle EGS module for paddle shifter.

The shifter and ecu are installed but the sport button does nothing at present, only have the same functionality as I had with the old shifter.

I can't check resistances at the moment as I am 300 miles from the car!
