Looks like you should be OK. What about paddles? Is that part of the hardware you have done?

Any help NOQuarter?
I found a brochure that confirm that SAT it was not possible as an extra in my car
http://www.vinesbmw.co.uk/downloads/...-55TO-525d.pdf

Do you think is it still possible to retrofit?
Thanks

The brochure for my 535 shows that it was not available for mine either. On the other hand, yours is a diesel so came with much more torque than a regular 5 series so maybe a different transmission. Take another look at real OEM and compare transmissions that came in the various 5 series. Maybe you have something that the shifter won't work with?

My real thought on this is the dealer software is too picky for the upgrade. I'm surprised they even gave you a new VO for this retrofit since it was not an available option.
Are you getting the expected behavior out of the SAT without the programming? Faster shifts?, stays in DS mode, stays in manual mode?

I don't have much to go on for the programming. After I made the VO change, I coded the modules that seemed like good candidates then manually made a change to allow me to operate without paddles. Maybe someone with NCS would have more luck?

I am also trying to complete this mod, i have a 525i with the same gearbox as the 525d, as I understand it it can be done, member BlooD on here said he would give the coding a go for me but I need to install the cables from the steering column first.
As said this was never available from the factory, it was available on 530i/d upwards but I cannot see any differences when comparing 525 and 530 on realoem. Thats hope it can be done as I have spent a considerable amount getting this far.
