but today i looked for the place where connector X6031 is.
I think this is it ... but i am not realy sure.

On this connector (picture) is pin 10 and 11 blank.
i could not find a red-white cable.
Sorry, no idea... wish I could help but you are now well past my level of knowledge/comfort on this. My dealer did the work, and I generally do not mess with the wiring under the hood.

Wpg550 thats ok . i know that you are not a bmw specialist. i m also not

if you bored NavarroOne and Wpg550 open the box - its easy - and took a photo like i ...
then we know which wiring in which connector (the mechanics have done)

last week i was in the bmw garage and i asked for the wiring scheme (x6031 and Shiftbox Gear-selector ) but they made it wrong - i dont get what i want - for what i asked.

to ascertain witch is the correct connector (X6031)it is essential to have the wiring scheme from x6031 ... and to know the wiring scheme of the shiftbox connector is also interesting .

can someone help

Bert69, I feel your pain. I'm also out of my depth on this one but I'll take a look tomorrow when I have daylight and see if I can get to the box and take a picture.

Hi Bert, I had the box and microfilter lifted out but couldn't see a thing and I'm loathe to begin to take more apart as I don't really know what I am doing in there, sorry mate but it doesn't look that straight forward and easy at all.

Thats realy easy be sure,

- first the microfilter away (the black plasik with the filter inside (15 seconds).
- next the black plastik under the microfilterplasic part (30 seconds)
- now you see the e-box
- open the cap of the ebox -5 torx screws (60 seconds)

i have a DIY for this if you want .

to night i installed the wheel and the joystick - it was realy easy and quick to do. (1 1/2 hours).
the paddles dont work but that i know before. the joystick works like the old one.

so the next step is to get the shift-wheel work - but for that i need help/more information.

I wish I wasn't sitting at work right now. Drove my new SAT this morning and I just want to leave work and go drive my car!

Got the VO changed but still need to sort out which modules to code. So the only thing that will change after the coding is some sort of Sport indicator in the cluster?

In the photo you can also see my new iDrive controller! That one didn't work out as planned - it lights up and looks really cool but no controls work. More tinkering to figure out what's up with that. I hope I just switched a couple wires in the wrong pin slots or something simple like that.
