Different question. I've got Dinan Stage III software upgrade. Do I need to have that 'cleared' or removed at the Dinan dealer before I send the ECU to you? Another vendor said that clearing is required to ensure the cleanest flash for their system. Just another trip to the dealer I'd like to avoid...

The original post stated a 15-20 hp gain on my 530. Is that only WITH the RPI ram air scoop AND exhaust or just the chip reprogramming itself?
Here's the thing. If I get the scoop they say..... 7 hp gain. If I get the exhaust they say another 10 hp gain. If I get the chip they say 15-20hp gain. So if I have all 3 that means I am gaining in a best-case scenario roughly 37 horsepower ?! Am I not damaging or decreasing the life of my engine by boosting its output that much?

Just because they say u get a certain amount of hp, thats not how it's added up.
Can someone please elaborate on his comment?
What I want to know is this:
If I purchase the RPI scoop, RPI ECU Remap, and the RPI Section III exhaust, what will my TOTAL HP and torque gain be on a 2004 530I?

That's what I was wondering. I'd love to see PRI dyno a 545 with the exhaust, tune, and intake. I'd like to see the results of this vs stock. And if it's close to 30 whp gain, it's a good deal. If it's only 15-20. Then might as well just get the tune done. amirite?

The scoops are like funnels that go behind the grill. They reach out and grab more air and smash it into the intake. It's like watching a hotdog eating contest, only the hotdogs, and the arms holding the hotdogs are invisible.

That's a wonderful visual right there.
