I got a very prompt answer from Brodit, so I am betting that there is some LD calling going on between Proclip and Brodit.
Can you believe this, Rudy. After I posted the above, my email audible came on. It was the following message from ProClip:
"This item should be in stock late next week.
Sincerely,
ProClip USA Customer Service

I do believe between us we have it working.

What a coincidence! Just today I was doing a little engineering and customizing of my player to fit the Proclip mount that I finally got around to ordering a few weeks ago.
I hope to have it finished soon -- pics will surely follow...

Wow, can't believe I read the whole thread. Waiting to see the end result of the DVD rear mount saga. I thought Dr D's was pretty cool but waiting to see what to do in the U.S.
As for the front...what's the side passenger supposed to do? Is there a way to view DVDs on the iDrive screen (w/o NAV)?

Well I did get around to modifying my portable DVD player so that I could use the Proclip mount. I didn't get around to taking pictures of the mods, just one shot of the screen mounted in position.
The nice thing about my unit is that it's huge but fits perfectly between the seats. Also, it has everything built-in. DVD player, TV tuner, AUX video input, two infrared headphones, remote control, and FM modulator.
My next task is to provide a better, more custom power connection to the player. Right now, I can use one of the cigarette lighter sockets right below the unit but I think it'll look nicer if I get power from somewhere else and conceal the wire.
I'll try to post more pics as I get time...
