LOL! Well, this brings up another question then. Hahahaha! Eloy - I'm considering the straight pipes for my car. We should talk.

How much louder will my car be with straight pipes over the HF Cats?
Its not that big of a difference. Maybe 2-4db

It's going to be little quieter believe it or not. I've been in cars with both setup and the straight-pipes is quieter yet yields more power. Kenny also seems to think so. He's had both setups on his M5.

WOW great mod! This is one of the biggest reasons I was really skiddish with getting an exhaust like this on an I-6 especially.

I wonder why not others brand name use the adjustable valve for control over sound. Then customer can make whatever they like.

Just idea only

the valve would cause a restriction in exhaust flow, creating a reduction of power. Since RPi believes in creating maximum power, the valve would be contrary to what they believe in. This is a great option for members who want the power but don't want the awesome sound!

Did RPI silencers can keep the power?

I don't think this is completely true. Some exhausts have this valve to create more back pressure at lower revs which provide more torque and it opens up at higher revs to increase flow.

Then again, the valve is also there to limit sound output to satisfy regulatory requirements.

I'm very intrested in this. Will this work in my tips? I have 3.5inch tips, the sound is a bit too loud, I'd like to do something cheaper than adding dual resonators.
