We've been using these same silencers for years with other applications and have also made them for other companies. They work well in keeping the sound down. I wasnt too worried about the performance difference since they are so easily removed.

You said after some time that the metal would kind of form and get tight inside the pipe, will it still be easily removed without damage to the tips? Also, has anybody tried this on their 530i exhaust?

We allow 1.5 mm tolerance on the silencer so its a little more loose when the exhaust is cold. As long as its not left there for a LONG time, its easily removed. Youll have to worry about carbon build up more than the actual metal warping. We are using the same T-304 as our exhaust.

Ahh..ok. Any installed on 530i exhaust yet? I want to buy this but I am waiting for either dyno or sound clip.

No, not yet. We dont have a lot of these cars in the area. Our 530 exhaust is the same (driver side) of the M5 system

Old thread, but I just found it. I added an RPI to my 545 about 6 months ago. If it were a pleasure car that I took out on weekends and ran to the track, I would find nothing to complain about at all with the noise level. As a daily driver, though, the drone below 2000 RPM is a little more than I can endure. My wife hates it.

I was considering putting my stock exhaust back on until I read about these silencers. So I ordered two last night; I'll try one first and then add the second or not depending on the result.

If I can get the (awesome) RPI sound, but 30% less of it, it will be perfect for me.

Eloy...if you read this - what bit will I need for the drilling? I'm guessing that the Home Depot multi-pack drill bit set won't be sufficient to get through your steel.

Old thread but and first time reading it, I saw they mentioned the silencers obviously lower the db of the exhaust so it is not as loud and also impact performance since the exit hole is tiny. So if it makes it not loud and reduces performance, why not just save your money and stick with the stock exhaust? lol

Right...clearly the silencer product is aimed at people who have already purchased the exhaust, but find it a little too loud for their taste.

Right...why not sell their $1k-$2k exhaust and put their stock on back on if it is too loud for their taste and the majority of the performance is lost, that hole is tiny and it has to be affect power by a huge amount. If people spend a significant amount more to mandrel bend instead of crush bend because of a few degrees of circumference then turning the exit of an exhaust in half is huge. Just doesn't make much sense to me, oh well.
