So I'm looking at aftermarket exhausts for my 2004 525i and there are basically no videos out there demonstrating any of the different brands on a 525i specifically. There's plenty on 545i / 550i etc. but very little for the 525i. Call me crazy, but I'm not digging the idea of dropping so much money into an exhaust having no idea what it will sound like once I go through the trouble of putting it on my car.

I don't want to spend all that money on something just barely noticeable / barely louder than stock. I'm after an aggressive sound and I'd like for it to be loud. Don't really care about drone. No real price limit, just want your suggestions on what's the best out there given my criteria.

I'm infinitely grateful for your suggestions. REALLY. You'd be helping me more than you know by replying to this thread with some useful info. This has been an issue of mine for a long time and I'm finally ready to sink some $$$ into modding my car.

Thanks!

Having a 525 with quads, I'd say go with RPI or Remus. I'd say RPI first. Most other exhausts you will lose HP, and you need all you can get with a 525.

Awwww, man....why'd you have to go there?

Thanks for your input. Just out of curiosity, I see you've done the res delete on yours. Do you feel like it was an improvement or are you more "eh" about it?

I only say that because I have one. I actually lost power, thats why I recommend RPI. If you go quads go with a dummy setup.

We are having a sale on the RPi exhaust and I sent you a PM. We are trying to find a dyno that RPi did a long time ago. But the gains will be 5-7whp

Here is the dyno of the 530i:
