Hey Guys,

Will non Navi cars (MASK) ever play video in the main screen through the dension? I know they have a new AVR coming out for the E60, but they say Nav cars only. I currently have the OEM iPod kit, and video in the factory screen is what could really close the deal for me. Also my car is a 12/03 built car, I cannot just buy the Dension Bluetooth module and have it work correct? I need a newer tcu and another dealer programming?

Thanks

(I sent you a PM nigxdoof, but figured I would ask here as well for more input. Thanks)

I'm looking to do exactly the same thing. I don't think you can get the video to plan on a non-NAV screen. What I'm trying to find out is, if I install a NAV screen, will I then be able to play video through Dension??

I know that if I install the NAV screen, the idrive screen will be shifted to the left and the right side will be blank, but if I can get the Dension to work with it and maybe play video at full screen, I may actually go for it.

HI Guys,

Im a newbie here and i want to install Dension but a bit confused about this. The car is Sept 03 uk spec, no NAV, no CDC but prewired, MASK.

From what i read in other threads, the screen wont show the text if i install the dension. It seems useless if there is no text appears on the screen.

Can you guys please clarify about this.

Thanks.

My car is the same specs as your car. All you have to do is have BMW program the Ipod software into your car and your dension will fully work. All features and text on the screen will be enabled.

. Do i need to get the stealer to program the ipod software or ask them to get the mp3 features enabled? Was your car previously dont have the text as well?

I wasn't sure if my car had text or not. I doubt it since I cannot play mp3's in the Cd player. I had the dealer program my car to have the Ipod integration kit, because at the time i still had that hardware. All I did was when i bought the dension was unplug the ipod and plug in the dension and viola. Everything worked accordingly.

And yes. you have to go the dealer.

Nice work, though running up and down sucks.
I am definitely going to add a Dension in this car. I spoke to my SA and he said to bring the car in and he'll have the IPOD programming done for me, free.
