Nice work, though running up and down sucks.
I am definitely going to add a Dension in this car. I spoke to my SA and he said to bring the car in and he'll have the IPOD programming done for me, free.
that's a great deal Ray!! Dooo it!

Yeah! I setup an appt. with him to get the programming done. Is that Dension GB still going on?

Great thread, thanks for all the info. I am currently looking to move from my E39 M5 to a E60 M5 in the next couple months and I can not live without my iPod and was wondering what direction I should go. I currently have the Intravee set up in my E39 and it works very good.

I have a few questions.

- is 2point5spec the same as Dennison? They are saying to buy this... http://stores.homestead.com/2point5/-strse...IPOD/Detail.bok It is considerably more than the $450 quotes I see people in this thread paying and I want to make sure it is the same exact thing.
- I read about some of you talking about video. Is there a mod you can buy that will play video and audio from your ipod?
- I have a 5th Gen iPod that I currently leave in my trunk 100% of the time in my E39, I also have a new iPhone 3Gs. I love Pandora but I also love my 60 gig iPod that is completely full of music. The question is can I plug my 5th gen in the glove 100% of the time and install my iPhone as well? Can I switch between the two within iDrive?
- Has anyone with the spec doc had any issues with the iphone flying off during spirited driving?
- What feature(s) should I be looking for in my search for my new car to make this easier to integrate? Don't get me wrong, I wont be making my purchase based on iPod integration but if I am down to a couple cars and I am having a hard time deciding on what one to buy, then the more I know the better. I am looking at a 2008 or newer car by the way.
- Did I read correctly that you can keep your CDC and the dennison? That is very cool, in the E39 you had to ditch the 6 disc to get the intravee to work.

Thanks! This is my first post over here, I found a link to this thread from a post on the M5Board, where I have lived the past few years. Looks like I have yet one more forum to add to my bookmarks. I look forward to adding contributions to this forum once I buy my e60 M5 and I learn more about it.

Cheers,
Rob

One last thing. I can not seem to find a good website for the dennison that explains all it's features. Can someone point me in the correct direction please?

Cheers,
Rob

I thought I had, but I wasnt at that site. Yes I am new at the interwebby thingy =) doh!

I was on the iPod-USB section of the site. Not the Gateway area. It looks like there are two multi-pin inputs, so can I use my iPod and iPhone plugged in and select between them?

This looks like a great solution.

Rob,

If you gettin' the LCI ('08 & up) model it'll have USB integration option w/ iPod hookup cable.

But isn't the Dennison better than the OEM ipod/USB set up?

Hell yes, but the LCI's have USB and ipod available. As to the 2004-2007 E60's, BMW did not give the USB option at all until the Dension came along.
