Really depend on the local BMW, some that really could careless will probably say no since it's not OEM, I have a good relationship w/ my local BMW and they are great so I did my own install (right on their service bay since it was so easy & quick) and they have no problem to try various retrofit enabling and the end I worked on the BMW SSS programming station myself where I tried to bring up Dension as CDC module and failed and finally use it as iPod interface module.

Hey Mitch,

I'm sure it'll work for yours. My car is older than yours and has the least options. I didn't even have a CDC. with my 09/03 build, everything was limited until i got my hands on it and figured out how to put better modules in it. (Ipod, Bluetooth, aluminum trim, m5 smg shift knob, lci tails, Euro spec headlights, LED turn signals, etc....)

So it'll definitely work for your car, its just a matter of installing it.

does the voice button on the steering control work with the dension to let you voice control the idriver
No it doesn't.

Also the iPOD UI mode is for iPOD videos in case you have the IVE1000 module installed too like I do.

I have a 09/2003 build, 2004 530i. I just changed out to a newer TCU and BMW programmed the car.

Dension Update!!

I have the iphone 3g, and its connected on my custom dock -ashtray.

For Iphone 3g users, I'm sure you know what Pandora is. Pandora is a Radio internet application. If you have internet connection, you'll be able to listen to music through there.

The Dension has an option that says, IPOD UI, which means, Ipod User interface.

I was able to start the Pandora app and listen to it through the IPOD UI source option in the dension. Which means I can listen to internet radio in my car through my ipod!!

Its an awesome find. I only went around my neighborhood so i dont know how it is at high speeds, will keep people posted if interested. But this just goes to show the dension is awesome!!
