I saw it on our local LA news, i was curious if it was an e60.
Now I know--but the main thing everyone is OK!
Yes, the news were more worried about the truck.

Hey!!!
I saw this story on my local news!!! They were more concerned with the condition and result of the other vehicle (on it's side), but of the quick view they showed, I knew it was an e60.
If I'm not mistaken, there was dash-cam video of this. I'll try to find it.
Glad everyone is okay.

I am a firefighter and the proud owner of a 2004 545i. Last week I rolled on a vehicle into a house on it's side accident. Upon arrival we had a F150 on it's side nearly into a house. The two adults and 3 kids were able to crawl out and unhurt. Before the Ford went into the house it collided with the same model and make BMW that I own. The air bags deployed wonderfully and dispite the damage to the bimmer the little lady was unhurt. She said the accident felt as if there was little contact. However, by the pictures, it was quite extensive. It makes me happy to know that we have a car that can hold up to something like this. Happy driving.

For what it's worth, IMHO I think it looks like the BMW did attempt to turn left after the camera moved away and then the truck, thinking the car was turning right initially, didn't even slow down for the intersection.
If I were involved in this case I'd say the BMW was at least partially to blame, depending on whether they signalled what they were intending to do or not. The truck driver, however, is reckless. What on earth was he doing going at that speed across an intersection on a residential street? If he had been going at the correct speed he could have avoided the BMW, regardless of what it did. The BMW was only crawling along.
