im about to change my tires. i have 138s. in the manual. they say that i should install 225/50/17, but then the rim will look small on my car.will it affect performance,or stability or CONFORT(most important) if i installed 245/45/17 in order for my rim to look BIGGER.

on the 138, the company installs 225/50 since its a 17*7.5
whereas 122, the company puts 245/45 since its 17*8
"dunno if they do this for bigger look or bcoz rim has more width?"

and last but not least. Which tire is the best. Goodyear?pirelli?bridgestone?

people are telling me to install bridgestone Adrenaline or Goodyear eagle?

Im opened to ALLLL suggestions and would appreciate all ur help

I have 138s and 225/50/17 all supplied OEM. Handles vwell, looks OK and apart from being RFT is not harsh.

u want biger tyres u mus git biger whls.

Actually, I think the 225-50/17 are the only size tires for the 138.

Don't put larger tires on them...you're just looking for trouble!

Hey buddy this would help

http://www.dragtimes.com/2005-BMW-530i-Tir...R17-t21269.html

I personally have the continental touring all-seasons on my car but I don't think you'd need that in Beirut. For what its worth though I'm very satisfied with Continental Tires.

245/45/17 would be the closest equivalent to 225/50/17 for rolling circumference. Trouble is the 7.5" rim isn't wide enough to take a 245 tyre. You need at least an 8" rim...
