sucks its not considered totalled-I guarentee your engine got shaken up and likely your tranny since its connected to the engine-not to mention any other engine bay parts--sad thing is you will slowly find out over time what got ruined. I had half your damage and found random little things in the bay--and my engine was not even touched just little things in front of it.

how much cost was ur damage? if mine exceeds the amount the car is worth it will be totaled (i doubt the damage will be that much)
and my engine was touched..for sure

Sorry to hear this, glad you are ok. Its just a car, just think if it cannot be repaired, you could be driving a new(er) one in no time.

Actually, to be considered totaled, Allstate's standard is damage >/= 80% of the cars wholesale value. I just had them total a 2008 Honda Civic I bought my wife, and the damage was no where near that. I would get that estimate and compare it to the Galves trade in value, which is pretty close to the insurance Company's book values.

You can always insist that it be totaled too. Tell the claims adjuster you fear the engine/transmission are damaged. The claims adjusters typically are the judge, jury, and executioner on those decisions.

Good luck on the repairs if you go forth with them.

i just went and looked at my car...they took all the damaged parts off
the total damage is $12,600 and they are replacing two parts of the uni-body..isnt that dangerous?
