My rear window seal is completely cracked. I asked my BMW shop and he said that the seal is glued behind the window and he has not seen any water leaks in older BMW but gave me a recommendation to a body shop.

Simple DIY for front or rear, I've had to do both on my '04 (~30 min each). Don't remember the cost, but I remember the parts being very cheap.

DId mine the other day... It was the easiest thing I have done. It literally took me 10 min for the front and 10min for the rear. I ordered the part through ECStuning.com Cost $85 front and rear shipped. Also ordered a new side trim since I feel it has to be removed to get it the top rubber perfect. Once you remove it though the clips break off. Anyways, I just ordered it and that part was $53 shipped.

Do it... Super easy and came out perfect! $140 and I did front and rear!

I just recently did the rear and front seals on my 04' 545i. Its diffidently a DIY job you can buy the seals cheap Front & Rear. I believe it was around $75 dollars shipped a lot better price then the $500+ quot i got from BMW.

I did mine 7 weeks ago. the back windshield was easy to remove and replace. I did it by myself.
the front one was super easy to remove but I it was hard to me to install the new one. no need to remove the windshield. I ended uo taking my car to the dealer to do the job. I believe the part cost me around $50 or less from the dealership. they charged me $50 for the labor but that price after discount

Front is easier than the rear but you do have to pop off the side drip trim. Correction to my post above. After you pop out the drip trim, you do not need to order another as mentioned in my post above ($53). All you need are the mounting clips to reinstall. I thought te clips came with the part, but when I received it, the clips were not included.
