I was impeded by autumn (fall) holiday traffic. My 530d has hit an indicated 250km/h but I'm guessing true speed was a little lower than that.

Just came back from a trip to the 'Ardennen' in Belgium with the 530d. Did 260km/h on the meter, but could do easily more (not enough road AND a Mrs. who complains above 240....).
Once drove with a friend of mine in his M5 (without limiter) and did 320 km/h (312 on GPS). The car could do more, but the car needs a higher octane (he filled it up with 95) for these higher speeds.

Hello,
the highest speed I've gone in my e61 535d is 244kph (152mph)(measured with a portable GPS). The speed limiter comes to early and so i can't go faster
Here in Germany you can drive this speed over long distances and nobody really care
The highest speed I've ever driven was nearly 300kph in a 996 GT3.
It's a real pity that you have in America such great cars and cant drive legally fast with them. I mean, we have 2008 and not 1930, so why not?

135 on a very open stretch of I-65 south of Indy. Was incredibly smooth, and I wanted to go faster, but was too afraid of an insane ticket.
You mean loss of license!!!
