I don't want to hear about your period happening...although I must admit I am somewhat relieved.

About 245km/hr on German freeway (legal) and about same on french A26 freeway at 3am (illegal), and confirmed by separate GPS measuring speed (with all police check points freshly memorized). This was in D mode on transmission, each time with no pain and still some space to the red zone and could feel engine could push harder (scary). All this with a 530XD diesel touring E60, and at that pace fuel consumption was about 13.5 to 14l / 100km. Tyres are 225 wide on 17 inch rim RFT (At that speed I love RFT). What puzzled me was how stable the car was at that speed and all I could hear was just wind on car slightly louder than at usual speed. When I tried same with my former Audi quattro (A4) stability was very questionable at high speed and steering was feeling like..no feeling, just too light.

In UK could never go much above 160km/h (~100mph) as freeway is to busy to do this in satisfying safe conditions (always got a 60mph guy in the right lane...)...and police car at 50mph in the left one!!

Anyway, never do so if environment or visibility isn't there.
