I do have some issues that need to be addressed.. [snip].. fixing the remote antenna, since my key range is literally inches from the car,
I had this issue on my last E60. After trying unsuccessfully to get it fixed - the SA said it was diagnosing OK - I mentioned it to a friend who suggested I cleaned the back windscreen very carefully to make sure there was nothing obstructing the antenna. I thoroughly degreased it and polished it with a clean microfibre cloth, particularly around the edges and couldn't actually believe how much wax was built up on the glass. Whatever I did, it worked! The range was back to as new. It won't hurt to give it a try before you spend good money on a repair.

How about the placement of the contol for the heated steering wheel. Ever catch yourself turning the steering wheel to see whether it's turned on . . .
Yep! The LED should've been placed on top of the steering column.

The worst thing about the E60 is how the temperature controls have preset temperature numbers written around the dials. All other BMW models except the 6-series and Z4 display the temperature readout digitally.
I actually like that... a bit more classic IMO.

But digital is easier and safer to use. My old Audi A4 has digital climate control and it's much easier to glance down to see that the current temp is at 70 and then get back to the road and just press the + button 5 times to raise the temp to 75. On the BMW, the numbers are small, hard to read and aren't even backlit that well. Plus, the knob itself blocks the other half of the dial.

I hope the F10 has digital climate control and digital realtime MPG.

1. No place to put cell phone.

2. Drink holders (doesn't fit my super sized coke, 40 ounce Big Gulp, or Riedel wine glass)

3. No place for spare change.

4. The Homelink garage door open only functions whenthe car is on, so you are starting your car with the garage door down.

Just my .02
3. Use the ashtray.

4. In my old Audi, the Homelink was in the visor, which is a much better place for it since you don't have to worry about shifting the mirror out of place everytime you use it.

5. And in the ceiling, a sunglasses holder would be nice too!

1. What's wrong with: the door pocket, the armrest storage, the storage cup by the ashtray, your pocket, the passenger seat, etc.?
Don't put anything in door pockets that you care about accidently losing if it falls out without you knowing.

The most stupid thing about my E60 is:

WHEN THE DEALER DRILLS TWO STUPID HOLES IN THE BEAUTIFUL FRONT BUMPER FOR A LICENSE PLATE!

I put my cell phone on the ledge in front of the iDrive screen.
That scratches the clear plastic over the iDrive screen...which are impossible to buff out!

I think the stupidest thing about my car - indirectly - is the fact that owning it led me to actually attempt to read this forum you guys wanna see what the real "stupid" car owners have to say? Check out the forum for, say, Ford Taurus!

E60 IS THE BEST CAR ON THE ROAD TODAY (maaaaybe, not counting the e92 M3 and a few other rides, neither of which are less expensive, more reliable or less "stupid").
