Yeah, i'm in Odessa, the southermost city. We had a total of 5 days of snow here this winter. Not many rainy days either.
Yeah I fly from there.

I visit north of Mykolayiv/Nikolayev

ABC.

Yup, thats what i've been thinking.
Right now I have 525xi. It rides great in water/snow but we rarely has this problem here.

So i've been thinking about getting a new 530i.

The 'XI' comes only on 17" rims (and higher) (225/50/R17). I even got the 225/55 tires, a bit highter profile for more comfort.
The regual 'I' is on 16" rims (225/55/R16), and I will be able to get to run on 225/60 tires, witch would absorb even more of bad road, and therefore give a more comfortable ride.
Why wont the put an EDC (Electronic Damper Control) on a standard e60 is beyond me
US 530xi comes with 18" 123 style wheels as an option. I am sure you can order them too. Here is list of wheels available for 530xi in Europe

You can do the 124's or the 135's for the US model too. It's just a higher offset wheel than the standard 124/135 wheel. I have the 124's as my summer set up.

IMHO, there is nothing to debate. RWD all the way.

There is a constant debate on various web sites. The latest sports sedan comparos (C&D, R&T, Edmunds) as well as the growing number of performance manufactures going to AWD, makes it even more fun to question what is best.

Yep, I am planning to have the same setup. Just haven't decided when exactly Set of 124s + tires for xi will set me back for around $2500. Blizzaks will be another $800 at least. So I am not sure still maybe after I see my tax return

I quoted dealship price ($1700 for rims alone). Gary from RI quoted lower prices, but still - 124 + tires + winter set for 123s is probably around $2600+

Ah, yeah, sorry...forgot about the winters. Yeah, my Blizzaks for my 123's were $800 or so from TR. But it's worth it. You'll have a set of wheels for each season and have longer tread life on both sets for years to come. And of course, your car will look GREAT!
