I reckon is the same adapter we need to use in Sweden as our connection for the cable is different from Germanny (or maybe EU). But, when I bought my last E46 with a hook it came with a free adapter. Do you really have to pay for that?!?

Med spesielt tilpasset fj?ring/hjuloppheng bak"

I wonder what adapter they mean? It doesn't state if it's the before mentioned cable connection or if it's something else. Have you raised this issue with your local dealer?

I wouldn't accept having to pay for some extra adapter cable...If I order a tow hitch I expect that I'll be able to use it. The dealer should give you one if needed without any hassle or charge. IMO
Good luck

That's in English (or something like it):

With adaptable hook (the electric adapter cable should be bought separately.)
Integrated with a rear bumper shutter.

This means that for hook part can and should be removed if not used.
It has a special made opening in the bumper with a cover.

You did order the right thing, but this "(adapter m? kj?pes separat)"
is probably do to differant standards in the world, and gives BMW a chance to to better profits.
But I suppose the cable doesn't cost much.

Comparing with Defa (a Norweigan brand) electric heater system, all the cords come with it.

At least the same product is number 235 overhere and it costs 1280 Eur.
