Default *** mp3 mp3 mp3 *** need help !!!

Good day to all the members,

I have been trying to get the MP3 playback to work on my 2004 530i (First half production)

I had the iDrive CCC software upgraded to the latest version by a BMW shop (Not dealer) and it still does not play MP3s. It keeps saying Medium can not be read"

Any help would be appreciated

I have had good MP3 disks do this intermittently. Try different disks, a regular CD, and then a MP3 disk again.

if i remember right, +KMP3 needs to be added to the vehicle or VO and then recode.
add +NAUX and that activates auxillary input. need to add cable too.

Older players have hardware issue with MP3s on 2004 despite updated software, unless you have multi disc changer I can' t p lay MP3 either, easier and cheaper solution is to go Bluetooth my Sure electronics board and stream your music. Search for "Better Bluetooth streaming " here.

it looks like you have the old brown screen which means an old software level that doesn't support mp3.

It should have looked like this: E60stockidrive.jpg Photo by jeffbechtel | Photobucket

seems like they didn't update your idrive.

WRONG! My screen looks like that and I play MP3s just fine.

There must be something else in play here... I'd go back to your BMW shop and have them make it right, if that's what you paid for.

Google SI B65 30 05. Based on what it says, all CCC equipped cars from start of production should be able to do MP3 if programmed correctly. My 2006 could not when delivered, but was reprogrammed at some point to enable MP3. MP3 works on both CD drive and NAV DVD drive if you put an MP3 CD or DVD in the NV DVD drive.

Like I stated in my previous reply above here, unless you hav the Nav CCC(DVD Player) you won't get MP3 playing, read the applicability of the subject SIB, SEE ATTACHED SCREENSHOT OF PG 1.
