Ok got the verdict on my car. 68K miles 2004 w sport package and 6mt. The low coolant is a leak somewhere the mechanic assured me it wasn't burning it.

Also to add to the list 68k miles and the front dynamic stabilizer bar is leaking, thus my dynamic drive malfunction:

Item 01

$1400 part. yikes.
OK.. but how big is the leak in the dynamic stabilizer bar? Mine is leaking a bit too... Not wet, but "sweating" ;-)
I just added more fluid and all works good for right now. I will need to replace it in some time, but I hope it will last a bit more... Try to do the same thing...

What about the cooling? Did you find the leak?

04 545i 6MT with 82,000 miles.... Replaced the A/C compressor (covered under CPO warranty) and the water pump (covered under CPO warranty). I told them to just replace the thermostat while they were in there replacing the waterpump. There was nothing wrong with it but ya know. Cost me $100 but I think it was worth it. So far that's all I've had to replace other than the brake pads, filters, windshield etc. etc.

That is the problem that I am having as well. Where do you add more fluid? And what type of fluid?

Power steering, active drive and active steering is all one system. You need the special power steering fluid $30 (sold by BMW) or $20 on-line.
As I remember it is Pentosin 11S - There is a note on the reservoir -use only Pentosin 11S (it is just next to the coolant reservoir).

Good Luck!

wow, a lot of common issues here.

I have 66,000 on mine.

No real problems, other than a replaced clutch under warranty at about 45,000 miles, and the infamous passenger seat airbag sensor.

I also burn about a quart of oil every 7500 miles, which is about when I change it anyway.

I had the active steering light come on last year for low fluid and put in some Pentosin and it's been fine ever since.
