Hi guys,

First post but hopefully a good one. I've read the whole thread and search high and low.

Can someone tell me the part numbers for this exact plate and button? And if you could be so kind as to tell me where to buy it online? I can't seem to find it anywhere!

Many thanks!

I have a pre-LCI 2004 530i model with 6 speed manual transmission. I went to order my FDC switch with part number 61316921691 but unfortunately for E60 manual transmission cars this product is ended from factory**Instead there is still in production a switch either for automatic transmission 61 31 6 922 799 or SMG transmission's cars only 61 31 6 919 507. Do you know if I choose one of these two switches, and which one, if I will be able to do the retrofit in my manual car?

Best Regards
Dimitris

Lilee, I've read most of this thread as well, and it sounds like the gear selector cover comes with the button. You will need a 4-pin socket that goes into the bottom of the button, though. (PN 61130005197 I think).

tortoiseracing thanks for your reply. The LCI is entirely different from pre-LCI I think. The LCI button that I linked to above has an 8 pin female socket... no idea why it needs 8 pins. 5 at most (2 for switch, 1 for LED bright, 1 for LED dim, 1 ground) something like that...

I guess we need a survey of which model and what did you notice when this is installed and active.

If you don't have servotronic or active steering (which also has servotronic) then steering feel will not change. That is one point that needs no explanation.

I don't understand the inconsistency reported so far on throttle response changing for some and not others.
I don't understand the inconsistency reported so far for shift schedule changes for auto trans cars.

I have MT 550i with sport pkg which gets me servotronic steering. I expect steering and throttle response changes but does it also have any impact on ARS?

I DO NOT have active steering and I feel a huge difference in steering firmness and throttle response after the mod.

Hello... I have a 2008 535i LCI (USA) and i'm looking to install this mod. I can't seem to find any info on the wiring for the US version. I have taken apart the fuse area and my module looks different than what is on the photos on page 42. The harness in my car has many more wires and there doesn't seem to be any empty spaces. Any help would be appreciated.

I've only had my 545i for a few weeks and it was one of the first mods I did, and what a difference!
This mod really does work. Throttle response is completely different and gear selection is much more aggressive. This mod alone is going to kill my gas mileage ! I didn't notice as much difference in steering response but I haven't really pushed it in the twisties since the mod.
Overall, a "must-do" for any E60 owner.

So now that we're on page 60 can someone sum up that indeed this actually DOES something? I can't be bothered to go through every page.
