Like SprintBooster, there are no "gains" per-say. It is a change in the feel of the car and acceleration. Throttle remap and other items. The stiffer steering is pretty neat in the twisties and gives you the sense that the car is much heavier than normal.

OK so I did this mod yesterday

Right, so out with the dash.

In with the button:

And the result

I can't say I notice a change in the throttle response or gear change (it's a bit like being in DS or M mode), but I'm more than happy with the results as the feeling of the steering alone makes this mod worth it

This mod only works on left handed drive E60's.

Do you know why?

Perhaps we should make a record of the year & model of each e60 that this mod is working on.

...maybe some of our cars will also require some coding. I noticed a reference to FDC in the SGM module a couple of days ago. It was set to 'nicht_aktiv'.

Pretty sure he was just kidding, hence the

I imagine the FDC would change to aktiv if you had the ignition on and sport mode enabled, then read the module again.

Yes, i was just joking about the left had drive. Unless you have a steering wheel in your car, then it wont work .

This would be nice to do if it not the same as DS, when I go on DS my car feels as you guys describe with this mod, I could be wrong if I am I could do this mod really quick.
I guess I don't want to take things apart to install a button that emulates DS mode, I hope someone proves me wrong........
