From your picture you still have the aircon/passenger icon (bottom left corner of screen). Since I had version 12 installed that icon has disappeared as you can see frommy picture.
If you have the "standard" aircon it means that the on-board computer is different and will contain less functions but I don't see why this should affect the RDS function on the radio. I have the advanced aircon so will have a few more features on the computer. More information on the computer can be seen here Computer.

As I mentioned I had RDS before my upgrade to version 12, so if you car was delivered in May 2004 (probably April build date) then I'm surprised that the RDS is not functioning as mine is a November 2003 build date.

Hope you sort this issue out soon.

 

BMW530 - tahnks for that. My car definitely has RDS because it can identify stations by name: the bit that's bugging me is just that it won't remember them on the 'memorised stations' screen - the very place where I want to be able to simply select from a range of pre-memorised stations by name rather than by frequency!

That said, I am not convinced that the AF part of RDS is working - ie whether the radio will automatically retune to a stronger signal for the same station as I drive from reception area to reception area.

The icon you mention is about the centre vent temperature and I had expected this to be a 'Manual only' selection on my standard Air Con, rather than Automatic as I expect it is on the Advanced Air Con.

As I say, a trip to the dealer sounds necessary, but that may have to wait until the mythical MP3 feature can be done at the same time!

Mine is like yours PeterT.
The RDS function does works but not memorises the radio stations in the chart.
And i haven't that option of switching on/off the RDS.
Mine is 28th April production and no idrive software upgrades.

 

Well, I to upgraded to V12 and have lost RDS. Has anyone found this set option in the US, as I cannot seem to locate it. I have tried both keys, and the same - no RDS on the stations that had it just before the upgrade.

Well I've proved on my E60 that Version 12 does not disable RDS. Maybe it does for US spec. cars but not in the UK (Europe) afaik.
