Heard back from the Service Manager at my dealership and he told me that they just recieved BV.25.0 and as of last night were waiting for one more on-line update to complete the download. He copied a statement from from BMW which is:

"With the introduction of March 2007 produced vehicles, enhancements have been made to the CID over previous model year vehicles. These enhancements include color and functional changes which improve functionality and give the CID a more appealing look. If a pre-3/07 production vehicle is programmed using Progman V25.00.00 or higher, the Head Unit (CCC, MASK, etc) will be updated with new operating software (see attachment) and this will result in changes to the color and functionality of the CID."

He also attached a PDF file showing some of the changes which I am attaching. It shows the changes for pre and post March 2007 build cars. It appears that the biggest differences in appearance will be see by those who own cars that are pre March 2007 build.

What a great post. Thank you.

I wonder what "Additional setting in Language to toggle navigation system pop-ups on/off" means? I wonder if this is referring to the popup arrow display in the Assistance Window when an imminent change of direction is announced.

Anyone notice from the PDF that the "phone signal strength indicator" has gone. It COULD be a different phone connected or it could be a retrograde compatability issue... (or it could be a Photoshop)...

Nice post. Lucky you have a SM who'll give you all the information. The signal strength meter disappearance must mean they had a different 'phone paired with the car, or whatever device they used to display the I-Drive menus. One wouldn't think they'd go backward on a BT issue...

NY Auto Show is coming up next week, and that's when the LCIs will first appear in the flesh in the USA, along with the enhanced I-Drive graphics. I'd think this would mean that anytime after the first day of the show (April 3) the dealers will be allowed to make Progman 25 installs to earlier build E60s.

The upgrade has restored the eyebrows but my phone - a Nokia 6310i - (which I was using in the car because my Nokia 8800 would not pair) no longer connects but the good news is the 8800 now does!

Is it my eyes, or does the pre 3/07 colours look more vibrant than the new post 3/07 colours

That was certainly what I thought when I looked at the PDF file last night. In almost each side by side comparison, the pre-March '07 colors were more vibrant. I'll be getting mine upgraded sometime next week so I'll know for sure then.

The GUI has moved away from "1930s wood effect" into "21st C post modern" and the excess colour has been dolloped onto the nav maps.

All these changes are cosmetic. The flaw in the current CCC is the useless information search in the NAV. A hand held Garmin finds Restaurants faster. There are rumors but nothing definative about this improvement. I also hope that BT phone connection is faster. I have driven the new 3 series loaners and as soon as I turn on the car the phone in my pocket is paired. With the my E60 it takes up to 2 minutes.

I don't have this problem it connects almost instantly, you might have a hardware problem.

You obviously are missing some key information about this. The improvements have been documented on here.

Finding a restaurant obviously needs priority.
