I'm amazed y'all want to take on such credit amounts in this financial climate.

See I didnt have a payed off car/semi payed off car to put down and didnt want to put any money down. Sure its a lot a month but I got the best maintenance and the extended warranty with it. It would have been like 80 bucks lower. I am probably not going to end up getting the 545i because they expect me to just throw away the 2k or so in the maintenance plan I did. Just throw away 2 grand thats all? No way. They say it cannot be cancelled and me get back the remainder (nothing used). SO...he said hes going to cal me back if I can cancel it but he said probably not. I told him forget it if I cant. I also told him I despise the wood trim in it and I want mine switched with the wood. He said dont make that a deal breaker. Sorry I love the color inside and out in my car now and I wouldnt have bought it if it wasnt exactly what I want. Yes its gonna be a deal breaker. Ill have to wait to get a more powerful engine until then Ill just mod up the looks of it. Thanks guys for all the input.

Interest perhaps? I bought at the right time as BMW even paid my first three payments which I was quite pleased with.

Just out of curiosity, which 911 did you have (chassis model and trim level)?
Joined the PCA for their driving schools, after the crash, and became quite proficient driving it, and any other car, after a couple of years. At the time, I too, craved the 0-60 rush and kick back. After a while, that got real old, real fast, and came to appreciate sustained speed more than quick bursts. It was fun while it lasted. It was a very expensive toy and with a kid entering college I got rid of it and started with my other childhood dream of owning the great, but more affordable BMW brand, in 1997.
Now, I consider myself a purist and my cars must remain bone stock with the exception of tires. Other than that, my cars are very cookie cutter, but beautiful nonetheless.
The rest is history, and as you know, I now enjoy chasing alien spaceships with anything available. I'm thinking of getting a Segway and see if I can keep up with the 545.

it was a street legal, race prepared, 1986 Porsche 911 Targa, making 325 horses (dyno tested) and prepared by European Performance Engineering, in Natick, MA. 0-60 in 3.5 (in 1993)

OMG, how much weight did you take outta that thing? That's Pagani Zonda F and Ferrari Enzo kind of 0-60 time and they both have well over 600bhp and all the modern launch control aids and 100ms gearchanges.

I never understood the fascination with straight line speed. It always seemed pointless. Hardly any skill is needed with the exception of the launch. I also feel 300+ hp without a LSD is also a waste. I've smoked several faster cars (c5 vettes on v710's, s werks minis, 335i) on the track with my little e30 crap box. You don't have to fight for reaer tire grip with lower hp cars or bikes. My lap times were always faster on 600cc bikes vs 1000. If you want to be slammed in to your seat for cheap get a 135i or an s54 powered m coupe. Or you could always just ad a 100 shot of NOS to your current car for that kick in the pants your looking for.
