... You'd be surprised how many people give up the race once they hit 130ish. ...
Are you serious??? You must be King of the Ricer Fly-by or something. I would imagine these people you are "racing" against give up at 130-ish because they realize you're never going to pass them. I'll admit that I've been in a street cockfight or two, but if I'm annihalating the other guy right off the bat or he's not making any appreciable gains (or vice versa), I shut it down. I've seldom ever had an opponate worthy of running into the high triple digits. And in the case of chasing down or outrunning a Vette/Porshe, I wouldn't even try; unless it was a Boxster or maybe a Cayman.

Mind you, I'm talking about my 550i. I wouldn't get into any sort of speed competition in a 525i/528i; not even with an Accord!

If it makes you feel better, yes, that's exactly what it is, they give up at 130ish because they realize I'm never going to pass them. That's what the Schumachers and Andrettis of the world usually do, don't they?. They just give up the race because no one's passing them.

I tell ya one thing, when I drove the 911, I dont care if grandma wanted to race me in her Buick or the hot shot wanted to race me in the supercharger, I just went and went until they were a tiny dot in the background and if they were so much getting as close as 10 cars lengths, I drove out of there like a bat out of hell. I would never, ever, under any circumstance would give the impression to the driver with the weaker car that he had any chance in hell that he won, whether it was legit or "ricer fly-by" as you call it, especially if he was the one to challenge. If you challenge someone and then let them pass you for any reason, you lose. Period. I don't care if you meant to race the guy 100 yards or 100 miles. He passes you and stays ahead of you, you lose.

I hear what some of the folks have said that a race is usually measured, like the quarter mile challenge and then you pass them at the 1/2 mile point when the other guy thought he'd won. In street challenges, the challenger does not flash a sign that says "let's race x miles." Usually they make eye contact, point forward with their index and nod their heads. No mileage is mentioned. I pass them and stay ahead, I win. He passes me and stays ahead he wins. Period. The race is over when one or the other exits the highway or gives the thumbs up. That's all there is to it. In Massachusetts, they don't call us the worst drivers in the country for nothing. People will race you in their mopeds and find ways to beat your ass, in a friendly sorta way, though.

Different testosterone strokes for different folks.

Just out of curiosity, which 911 did you have (chassis model and trim level)?

Ok so the guy called me and told me he SHOULD be able to get it to about 680 or so a month compared to my 622. Keep in mind I didnt want to put money down Id rather just pay monthly. Also keep in mind this is WITH extended warranty and maintenance till 2011. Im wondering if I even need extended warranty and maintenance for the 30k miles 545i? If I dropped that that would save me around 60-80 bucks a month. Hopefully it works out. Im going to be looking at the car soon. If I do get it though I might need a chrome grille from a member just until I get the new one...swap it with my matte black one and give them the one from the 545i. Damn id have to get tints all over again though. Should know within a few days. I really would like it by this weekend he said I could pick it up same day.

I also....am not parting ways with my anthracite trim for the wood trim. Im going to tell them to swap it for me without a doubt. If they wont...I honestly wont get the car

I purchased my 05 525 CPO with 38K miles for $29K before trading in my 325i and $3,500 down which brought it to $20K financed. I'm paying $390/month.

I can't even fathom paying ~$600/m for anything not _brand new_. If I were you I would just open a high interest savings account, HSBC for example- whatever, and funnel all that extra money you would be spending on a trade-up each month + fuel for a later down payment on something new and more powerful.

Just my $0,02.

Explain to me sir. Your loan is for 20k and you pay 390 a month. My loan is for 24k and i pay 487 a month. How is your payment so low?
