any way to stop SOS warning intermittingly after the service expires, without renewing of course.

Huh what SOS warning? Mine never warned me. I never renewed it.

If you get a warning I think theres a fault in the SOS system.

Same here, I did not renew mine and I am not getting any message. Try using it and if an operator comes on maybe they can deactivate it for you.

Dealers..... I didn't renew either - no error. Print out this thread and let them know their mistake.

It amazes me that BMW continues to sell cars with their terrible dealer network. I have given "ones" more times than I can remember and will never buy another BMW (new at least) again.

Thats a LIE!

I'm betting that your TCU module or whatever module that controls the out going calls to BMW assist has malfunctioned.
