Acc. to BMW it's not possible to combine an towing hook and SMG (530-550i).

Anyone who has an aftermarket hook and still SMG??

What problems can I expect to happen?

Are you talking about a trailer hitch or something else?

I wouldnt tow anything if you have to do a lot of stop and go. It'll not be good for your clutch.

If you're doing a road trip to the race track and want to tow your tires there then it'll be ok. Dont tow anything too heavy.

Oh and I shuold mention BMW says you're not suppose to tow using SMG.

I find it quite obvious and normal.
I wonder if steptronic copes with it way better.

Yes, Of course... much better. just look at how a manual clutch and how a auto tranny is designed.
