The boss isn't complaining so I haven't pursed it yet. I will have to see if my supplier has the right fitment. A side benefit is a significant reduction in brake dust. That alone is probably worth the change. ........

This issue is still driving me bonkers. GC, please let us know if you have any success with the ceramic pads!

Not so much. I use WorldPac as a supplier of "Akebono" ceramic pads, with PBR as a backup for a couple of fitments Ake doesn't supply or WorldPac cares not to stock. Neither pad is available at this time. Check out the Akebono website for their EURO pads. We have had very few problems with them. I will harass my salesman to see if there is an ETA.

Don't think it is advisable to move off from standstill in M3 but M2 should be fine.
Hrm... why not? Supposedly the car is supposed to know what a "safe" configuration of gears, speed, engine revs is, and it allows M3 from a stand still. Something with the clutch system?

When in manual mode, say M3, M4, or M5 and when you glide to a halt, what gear is being shown on the counter? Is it M2 or M1. I always have M2 when I do this but when in full auto mode I believe it shifts down to M1 when the car comes to a complete stop. Can you confirm this? Thanks!
It never goes below M3 with in manual mode and coming to a stop.

Just tried something interesting - A/C on, put the car in drive on a hill. Car moves forward to about 3-4 MPH. Turn off A/C, the car just sits there, holding place. Thinking back, my E30 was similarly quirky with the A/C on. 14 years later you'd think they'd have figured it out.
