I have the same issue, usually when I'm in second gear an around 3k rpm's to 4. I've thought about getting the injectors cleaned but will try the Chevron fuel cleaner first. After reading the replies I wonder if it is just normal, but as someone said, odd that it would be "normal" on a 60k car.

FWIW, what's being described here is the same thing that I was experiencing for the past couple of weeks, but I poured in some injector cleaner a week ago and I've not experienced the problem since. Maybe give the injector cleaner a shot and see how that works out for you...

2006 550i... figured I'd chime in as I have same problem when accelerating slowly from a stop. Very slight jerkiness on the first shift.. feels like a car that has had a "shift kit" installed. Almost can describe it as an aggressive downshift.
It's most noticeable when I'm trying to accelerate slowly and only lightly pressing the gas.
When I pull away normally, it doesn't really happen.
Perfectly smooth in sport mode.
Perfectly smooth once it's warmed up.
Never a problem in any situation other than accelerating slowly from a stop.

2004 545, I've experienced the same issue. Accelerating slowing and maintaining a speed around 35 MPH, I can feel a slight jerk/almost like a stutter. If I'm pulling away normally or even a bit aggressive can't feel anytihng. I've learnred to live with it. I don't think it should be a huge issue, knock an wood.
