Uhm, I believe that "reset" only applies to automatic transmissions

+1. I've got the CDV part, had it for almost 2 years now, but never got around to installing it.

I don't think it's related to the Clutch Delay Valve - my car hesitates when accelerating at relatively low RPM (1500-2000) with a cold engine, not during shifts.

I have what sounds like the same issuel If I have the RPM's around 1500 and the car is around 40-45 MPH I get a noticeable stumble. It seams like the trans gets confused and wants to shift but then second guesses it self and doesn't shift. There is no drop in RPM's when it happens and the software and trans reset has been done many times. My SA said well not much we can do about it because it only happens at certian times and it not able to be duplicated on a regular basis. Well I can make it happen almost every time I drive the car....

I have the same issue, usually when I'm in second gear an around 3k rpm's to 4. I've thought about getting the injectors cleaned but will try the Chevron fuel cleaner first. After reading the replies I wonder if it is just normal, but as someone said, odd that it would be "normal" on a 60k car.

Check my posts... I had the same problem.

I still get the rocking on a cold start, but the at-speed slight stumbling was resolved with Heet dry gas.

I poured a bottle of the red Heet into a 1/4 tank and filled up, and the problem cleared itself immediately.

I don't think that works for a Manual Transmission. I could be wrong though.

This is the situation I notice as well. I think, specifically, the car can't decide whether or not to move from 5th to 6th. I also notice it when lightly cruising at about 40 MPH. It never happens in DS, where the car ignores the 6th gear.

I've sort of decided it's probably not harmful - just another annoying trait of these ZF transmissions...

I'm having the same problem. Dealer thinks it might be the airflow sensor. I'll cross my fingers as it is going in next week!

2006 550i... figured I'd chime in as I have same problem when accelerating slowly from a stop. Very slight jerkiness on the first shift.. feels like a car that has had a "shift kit" installed. Almost can describe it as an aggressive downshift.

It's most noticeable when I'm trying to accelerate slowly and only lightly pressing the gas.
When I pull away normally, it doesn't really happen.
Perfectly smooth in sport mode.
Perfectly smooth once it's warmed up.

Never a problem in any situation other than accelerating slowly from a stop.
