Has anyone checked with the dealership as to having the stock halogen AE replaced with LED's? Mine are getting retrofitted tomorrow under warranty.

I hope it is just the AE. However when my AE stopped working, I bought a new AE and the stealership fitted it. However, even once fitted, it still would not work. They then done some diagnosis and identified it was a LM that was needed. As you can imagine I was not impressed.

Just to correct that my bulbs were in fact not replaced with LED's today but with longer life halogen bulbs. The SA said he gave me incorrect information. Bummer. I think I will now look into after market LED's. Whats a good brand?

Hopefully you won't need to change your LM.
You do not need to change the LM. The LM cannot affect just the angel eye bulb. It;s definitely a lie!!! Dont trust the dealers.

MTEC V2.1 works only for 2004-2007. We also have Motorcepts 5W V2 angel eyes.

Why did the insurance pay for headlight? Was the car in an accident?

I actually had water damage due to clogged storm drains only 4 months after buying the car... i somehow worked the headlamp into the damage Look for my thread with "Worst day in my BMW life" or something like that... what a fiasco that was.... make sure your drains are clear because it will back up the water right into your passenger area!

On a side note, my AE is working again... must have been a loose connection or its on its way out but either way I am upgrading!!

I'm not impressed. From what you say, the stealers stung me for a new lights module when one was maybe not required. After reading your post it appears that this was unfound. And the light module and programming was not cheap at all - about £600 I think! Is there anything I can do to get them to admit they replaced a part that did not need replacing? At the time, they put in a new bulb and showed me the AE was still not working. They told me no power was being delivered to a connection and a new lights module would solve this. The SA said this was a common fault with adaptive xenons. O damn; looks like they truly saw me coming and had the jumbo pot of vaseline ready!
