Light Control Module
Hi, I have a 2004 545i and wanted to know if there is any diy for replacing the LCM. I'm having issues with my drivers side parking light not working and already tried the Tool32 reset to try and fix the problem without success. Also was wondering is I buy a used LCM will I have to code it to the car?
Thanks for your help!

Yes, I checked the bulb....lol
I hooked the drivers side headlight to the passenger side and it worked, so I'm sure the LMC is the issue.....Thanks!

if anyone else having an issue with the LCM or "lighting malfunction" warning, i suggest disconnecting the negative cable on the battery for about 20 mins.. i had an issue with it for a week, my dash lights went out. my headlights and tailights would stay on if i turned the car on. all other exterior lights also went out, i could not control any of them with the switches. so i went through that for a week before disconnecting then reconnecting the battery. my car went right back to normal after that, no warnings and full light functions restored.
its better to check/push-in fuses, and/or disconnect the battery for a little while before deciding to pull out any modules or order new parts.
i know this thread is a few months old but i decided to put this info up because i couldnt find a definitive solution to my issue at first.. so like i said, just try it. it worked for me. good luck

Bump for an answer.
Same thing happening to wife's car tonight.
Have to try the battery trick tomorrow, but all symptoms point out to the FRM.
Check out all the things this module controls.
