Just received the error message above (as the title says). Is this my Angel Eyes? Or is it a seperate bulb? Yes, I searched, and yes I looked in the manual. The manual says contact BMW as does the malfunction message.

Maybe its a good time to upgrade if it is my AE's... I have an '04 with Xenons... not sure if its bi-Xenons or not...

it is your angel eye bulb. sometimes they come back on just by tapping on the headlight in my experience. there is one angel eye bulb per headlight.

This just happened to me this morning as well on my 08 528i. Drivers side angel eyes are out. e-mailed dealer and they say that they will do an LED retrofit and re-program under warranty. This is cool cause I wanted brighter whiter angel eyes. I am looking for info on this since it must be a service bulletin or something.

and its not a bulb you can find at your local parts store. you have to go to the dealer, or get an aftermarket alternative.

I just went outside and confirmed it is the AE's... I am thinking this is a great reason to upgrade to the MTEC or 5W.... thoughts?

I had my right parking light, (AE), go. I bought a new bulb from the stealers and they attempted to install. However, this did not fix the problem. After further diagnosis it needed a new light module and programming. Not the cheapest of things! I was told by the SA that he has seen this more frequently on the adaptive xenons as I have.

Hopefully you won't need to change your LM.

Good excuse to upgrade to Mtec V2; believe MOTORCEPTS in NYC sells it for $130.

Just to confirm the failed component is just the AE (not the light module), you can swap the AE from the other side to the failed side and see if that works.

Agree. Good time to go with LED AE from Motorcepts.
