So the protective glass is retrofittable??? What does it do for you in safety terms??
It makes the interior more silent and you can't break in.
They can throw a stone at the windows and they don't brake!

Mmmh interesting! Silence is always good.. As a retrofit it will cost $$$$$$$ You've made a good decision by ordering it.. Now it is their $$$$ to get it retrofited for you.

No this climate confort glazing wont protect you
from bullets, but the principe is the same apart
that they are multiple layer of pvb and glass
the climate confort is as already says above will
protect you from infrared and uv and because
they are laminated with the pvb it will be slightly
lighter aswell and of course you have the security
aspect if you have an accident it will behave the
same way as a windscreen and wont break
in million parts and that gives you an extra security
if you forget your cellphone in the car and intruder
will need a lot of time before they can break it

I actually ordered it and they told me two days before production that it won't be available.
I told them that I will pay for it and they retrofit it asap, or I am not buying the E60 and go with the new A6.
It took them almost one week, but they agreed and I also got a loaner E60, because my old car was then sold. Got my baby about 6 weeks later and now I am waiting for the retroft...

Iceman wants his E60 as well protected as that 750iL in the James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies. Bullet proof, unbreakable glass, electricifed door handles and re-inflating tyres (sounds like run-flats to me).

I see you got one of those early models in which they mounted the steering wheel on the wrong side. The dealer can fix that with no trouble.

I just meant you got right-hand drive. Kidding. I know you're in the UK.
