My 04 545i freaked out last night. I was driving home on the freeway and the i-Drive went black and then it re-booted itself. Prior to this, I was using the voice commands to pass the time away during traffic.

I have no warning sounds now. There is no annoying seatbelt "bong", or lights on reminder. This could be a good thing. Unfortunately, my PDC does not sound now. I have the graphical image, but zero audible sound.

Has anyone experienced this before?

It's almost time for me to take it to the dealer for an oil service.

Thanks

Everything probably works fine again now.

Try it.

If this happens again, reset the CCC or turn off the engine and wait 15 mnutes before restarting it.

Next time at the dealer, get a software update.

I hope you are still under warranty b/c you might need to get your CCC replaced fairly soon.

I had this happen to me a couple times and after a software update it never happened again.
No CCC replacement was needed.
