From what I understand, you can only clear service lights (oil, brakes, smog, etc.) from the dash, not errors.

Maybe BMW ICOM A2+B+C will be a good choice. It is the newest BMW diagnostic tool.
Upgrade of ICOM , ICOM A2+B+C is second generation diagnostic interface for BMW ISTA system.

Interface A2 - OBD diagnostic supporting MOST, D-CAN and K-CAN protocols.
Interface B - diagnostic via MOST bus, and have connection to A-interface via USB connection.
Interface C - 20-pin cable for old models.
