I think you can set it to turn the fan on and swap the air out at a certain time correct? Anyway much more reading to come.
Correct. In the climate section of iDrive, find "parked car operation" and "automatic ventilation" under that. Check Parked car ventilation". Go to "activation time", "timer 1" and set a time. Then check "timer 1" to activate. It should display a light on the fan speed knob when parked, showing its activated. It will run for 10 minutes at the set time. From then on, just go into "timer 1" and re-check it to activate again.

I use it all the time in the summer.

Wow! I did not know about that extra outlet. That is great because I will use that one quite a bit actually. I just ran up to my garage and checked it out and moved the outlet for my garmin to there. Now granted I have only had the car 3 weeks, but I am guessing it would have been 6mo or more before I found that myself. Thanks.

Found the trunk handle right away, and the window/sunroof deal was the same on my E39 remote. Use it often down here in the sunny south. Great to roll the windows down while you are walking across the parking lot on a hot day.

I need to read the book more to learn how to do the automatic settings in the climate area. I think you can set it to turn the fan on and swap the air out at a certain time correct? Anyway much more reading to come.
I had no idea about that inner trunk handle to close the trunk without touching the exterior.. sure enough it's there.. not sure if I'll really use it, but good to know!

There was only one trunk handle on the e39.

Now I have two trunk "handles" and they're carpeted!

I use them almost exclusively.

THat is what helped me find this one right away my e39 had the one that was very noticable, so I figured the e60 would a well when I couldnt see it directly I felt around the lip and felt it right off. Yes I too love using the handle almost exclusively.

Not only do I use the trunk handle exclusively (been doing so since my 1998 E39) but if someone else is about to close my trunk, I'll jump out of the driver's seat and make sure I close it using the handle before they touch the paint!

I know, I'm sick...

Cheap and cheerful neat trick:

- Save yourself the cost of a heated steering wheel, buy a pair of leather gloves for $10.

- Save yourself the cost of "leather scent" sprays, leave the gloves in the car.

As I don't have a heated steering wheel I just got myself some gloves made of wild leather. They do the same job as the HSW and leave a nice aroma in the car when I leave 'em inside.

I guess I am sick as well Rudy

To prevent me jumping out, I almost never let anyone else aside from me load anything in my trunk, just to make sure they don't drag it across my bumper...

Yes, sounds that simple, but, once you experience the HSW, you'll never think this way again, trust me. Although I still enjoy driving my E46, I shudder at the thought of not having the HSW in the E46, when it's my turn to drive it, and yes, I have a terrific pair of leather gloves but they just don't compare.
