Long Beach BMW did mine for $1800. BMW offered it at that price up until May of 05 I believe. Any extra cost was picked up by BMWNA. They did it only for early production 2004 E60's because NAV was not available as an option.

I called Long Beach BMW and asked them about retrofitting nav. They said they couldn't do it. Their reason was they couldn't order the retrofit kit. Do you know who your service guy was???

Does the BMW ASAP have to be performed at the dealers?

Correct, except if you have BMW online parts catalogue in your PC and an International dealer number available

How does the monitor seem to be fixed, what is different now?

Newer Progman V25.01, accepted the previously "semi compatible" (described in my earlier post) loaner's monitor, as a totally compatible this time. Dealer swapped my monitor with loaner's from the beginning this time, without to give a try with my own monitor, because we didn't have to spend time with SSS rejection to my monitor, like did last week with Progman V25.00.

BTW, pogramming duration took 3 hours, because newer version, did a new total CCC and bluetooth update again. Voice input encoding, took 5 minutes!

What did Paul say that was correct?

Paul informed me about the ASAP proccess and that dealer must leave the VIN number box blank, THANKS PAUL again

When you say Voice Input, what do you mean?
The car's voice commands function.

Since updating my Pro Nav, if I press the voice button on the steering wheel, the lady speaks in German, even though my Navigation commands are in English.
You have to visit your dealer for update

Also, my Voice button on the new I-Drive Menu/Voice button doesn't work.

Do these count as Voice Input updates?

Probably.

Did you replaced the I-drive controller with the "High" version?
Did you installed a new microphone / are the voice commands functioning or, lady ask you always to repeat and keeps telling which options are available?

I remember I had to wait 4 to six weeks for the parts from Germany. I dealt with Craig Lundberg in the parts department. You would think that parts would be available in case an inoperative NAV had to be replaced in a car that already had it.

Hi Nick,

1) Yes, I replaced the iDrive controller with the HIGH version, and also the Menu/Voice button next to the iDrive controller.

2) Yes, I installed the Pro Nav microphone.

No, my Pro Nav voice doesn't work and when I press the VOICE button on the streering wheel, the lady only speaks in German, even though Pro Nav directions are in ENGLISH. Hopefully these minor issues will be fixed when I eventually have the Pro Nav retrofit path performed. I would be very surprised if my BMW service in Adelaide would swap monitors to perform the retrofit update.
