Yes, he don't have an SVDO monitor, (he say) so, I will go with this one until I find one "compatible" on eBay.

BOBCRUZ, call BMWNA or a BMW parts department with your VIN number and they can tell you if your car has NAV Prep. I think the option is called 6UA or something like that. Hope this helps. Take a look here http://forums.e60.net/index.php?act=findpost&pid=62185
I took my car to New Century BMW to ask about getting my 2004 BMW 525i 11/03 build-nav prep-retrofited with NAV. I showed them the instructions detailing the kit and installation instructions pulled from this site. After about an hour of searching, the service rep said it's impossible to retrofit nav on my car. In fact, they went a step furthur and said the form I took was fake. Specifically, they couldn't find the part number in their data base.
I really need to get NAV installed in my vehicle. Can someone please confirm if it's possible to retrofit my car with NAV since the dealer has no clue??
Any help is appreciated
No one in the LA area want to even touch the car to install an aftermarket system...
I am not clear what you asked the dealer. Did you ask him to retrofit the nav prep option or to retrofit the NAV? Without the prep. option from the factory when built, it is next to impossible to install it.

Long Beach BMW did mine for $1800. BMW offered it at that price up until May of 05 I believe. Any extra cost was picked up by BMWNA. They did it only for early production 2004 E60's because NAV was not available as an option.

He replied again today, and asked to inform him with compatible CID part numbers, so he could exchange it with a new one.

I did the voice input encoding yesterday, via the BMW ASAP online codes procedure.
Finally I got CIP 25.01 and I think that they fixed the monitor issue, but I'm not 100% sure. I will discover this, when I'll be back at dealer's next week, to have my mp3 enabled.
The story is a bit different compared to what I've heard from other members here.
Paul (our forums member: Hodgson100) was absolutely right. THANK YOU PAUL!!
As soon as you are at dealer's for update and only if your car needs voice input update, then, system stops programming and immediately sends online your VIN number at BMW ASAP portal.
Then, your dealer have to request the codes online with the "ASAP" proccess, but there is no need to enter your VIN number on the online request procedure, because progman system, has already sent your VIN# at BMW ASAP portal/parts and accessories/Sweeping Technologies/Freischaltcodes.
If dealer enter a car's VIN# in the VIN#box, then we will find nothing to download
Dealer has only to enter his International dealer number and leave the VIN# box blank. Doing so, any requested voice activation codes (via progman) will be available there to download them.
PS. I have got the CD with my code files :-)

indeed. When you say Voice Input, what do you mean? Since updating my Pro Nav, if I press the voice button on the steering wheel, the lady speaks in German, even though my Navigation commands are in English.
Also, my Voice button on the new I-Drive Menu/Voice button doesn't work.
Do these count as Voice Input updates?
